‘Evaraina Epudaina’ fame Vimala Raman looks stunning
Several divas hailing from different parts of the country tend to test their fate in Indian cinema particularly in Bollywood followed by South cinema. While a few of them manage to make it big in the showbiz world, many starlets either have to sacrifice their dreams or settle down with small roles & supporting stuff. Amid this scenario, a beautiful belle born & raised in western Sydney has struck the right chord with Indian regional views with films in multiple languages like Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. She is none other than the ravishing Vimala Raman.
Post her graduation from the University of New South Wales; Vimala Raman got into modelling and bagged a couple of titles in prestigious beauty pageants. The ‘Miss India Australia’ forayed into acting in 2005 after acclaimed filmmaker K Balachander casted her as the female lead in ‘Poi’ which released as ‘Abaddham’ in Telugu. But it was ‘Evaraina Epudaina’ that gave the gorgeous lady her first break in Tollywood. Vimala is celebrating her 37th birthday today and let’s feast our eyes by viewing some of her stunning pics on Instagram.
Born to Indian parents who had migrated to Australia, Vimala Raman was raised in the south-west Sydney suburb of Narwee and spent her teen years hanging out around local places and watching Bollywood movies. She hails from a Tamil household who have their roots in Bengaluru. An established dancer in Bharatanatyam, Vimala was graduated from the University of New South Wales. Stepping foot into beauty pageants, the brunette babe bagged the Miss India Australia in 2004 and was crowned the Miss India Worldwide – Beautiful Face in 2005.
Vimala scored a much bigger prize from the beauty pageant by landing herself as the leading lady in K Balachander’s 101st and final film ‘Poi’, released in Telugu as ‘Abaddham’. Though the Uday Kiran starrer bombed at the box-office, the debutante actress created a lasting impression with her attractive looks and arresting screen-presence. Vimala forayed into Tollywood opposite Varun Sandesh in the 2009 romantic-comedy ‘Evaraina Epudaina’. She lifted the film in the meaty role of Madhumita and looked ravishing on the screen, particularly in the songs. With an expressive face and convincing acting skills, she was able to instantly connect with the audience. In the next three years, the bombshell featured in several Telugu films which include ‘Gaayam 2’, ‘Ranga The Donga’ and ‘Raaj’. Her Bollywood debut happened in 2013 with Ankush Bhatt’s ‘Mumbai Mirror’.
