Dil Raju In Search Of Young Sharwanand

It is known that Dil Raju has got the Telugu remake rights of Tamil super hit film ’96’. Touted to be an emotional love story, set in 1990s backdrop, Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha played the lead roles in the Tamil version.

Dil Raju has announced that Sharwanand and Samantha are going to play the lead roles in the Telugu version of the film. Director Prem Kumar who helmed the Tamil version is going to direct the Telugu version as well. Now, Dil Raju and team made an announcement that they need an actor to play the younger version of Sharwanand.

For the uninitiated, ’96’ is a complete love story and the leads fall in love during their schooling itself. So, Dil Raju and team announced that they want an actor whose age is between 14 to 20 to play the young Sharwanand’s role. Interested candidates can send their details with 10 of their photos to the address mentioned by the producer.

Sri Venkateswara Creations banner is bankrolling this project. We have to wait and see if the Telugu version can repeat the same magic as the Tamil version or not.

Mahanati becoming a huge blockbuster made many in Telugu look at biopics and NBK’s NTR biopic took the trend of announcing the films on big stars and legends a cool thing.

We have been listening about Yatra and NTR Mahanayakudu, the next films to come out. But NTR Kathanayakudu’s disastrous result is making many nervous.

The amount it needs to re-create sets and the time period effect in VFX is huge and if the movie doesn’t get at least 10 crores back, putting so much is difficult too.

Even in Hindi, Manikarnika became a flop and to add to it, Cheat India, Thackeray have also become flops. While there are few aspects to like in the films, majorly they are turning out to be propaganda pieces for actors or producers.

So, people are not showing much interest in these films. There are 25 biopics more coming out this year and if they don’t perform, producers will cancel all biopics in planning.
